Retreat! :D

It was like only two days and one night so its really short. But the photos are funny! Haha.

Day 1

Went to church real early in the morning and helped bring down the stuff from the rooms upstairs to the carpark and then carried the stuff into the bus. Bus = iPod time :D Then the bus brought us to St Andrew's Village. I didn't get to see the bunks because I was like carrying stuff and whatever. Yeah then went to Bethesda Cathedral for some course about Habitudes.

The church was really big and quite nice. The worship was good. Like very loud and enthusiastic and all. Then there was the teaching parts. They taught about leadership and all that stuff. Had lunch break in the middle of the day so walked all the way to MacDonald's. I was having stomachaches that day and it was really hot /:

Haha so cute luh!
After lunch, went back for the rest of the course. And we left early because they ended late. So we sort of skipped the worship bits at the end. Haha we have a program to follow I guess.

Then Ale and I had to prepare for dinner. Its like the most exhausting thing ever. HAHA. There was like no watercoolers on the first floor and no one would drink the water if we filled it with tap water. And, there were no water bottles at all. So no prizes for guessing how we filled the thing. And then in the end I guess our efforts were pretty wasted because everyone complained about the syrup. Hahahha oh wells.

There was supposed to be a cleaning roster as well but no one followed it so Ale and I cleaned the place up as well. I was like so tired and the games haven't started yet.

The comm. was like filling water bombs during dinner. And the gents; stunk so badly. Yes I went in. We were like half wet already and the games haven't even started haha.

Oh yeah, it was Myrtle's birthday that day! Happy birthday Myrtle (: She got cake smashed in her face. Haha.

Okayy so the best part, where so much effort was put into the planning - the games :D

First game - waer volleyball. Like normal volleyball but with water bombs tossed with trashbags held between two people. The only game I played heh. Its supposed to be a wet game but no one gets wet by the game. Everyone got wet because of itchy hands throwing water bombs at them. Haha.

Second game - knotted soccer. Soccer but with three people tied together at their ankles. I didn't watch this game because I was filling balloons :D

Third game - stuffed shirts. Its basically some obstacle course. This game was so HOT. Hahahahahaha. You musttt see the pictures. Words can't describe.

Fourth game - eat the balloon. Pick up balloons filled with water from a pool using your mouth only, carry it to a chair (the type with holes) burst it with your ass and let the water collect in a pail below. Okay. This game has hygiene problems because the pool was disgusting. There was like spit and saliva in it and some sweaty people got "baptised" in there. And its difficult because the ballons are rather huge and kind of heavy. And like, saggy. Quite gross. Haha. But still everyone managed to do it.

Fifth game - Bible verse game. Look for pieces of a bible verse in the pool and piece together. I think it was frustrating because it was very dark.

Then we had a water bomb session and everyone was like running around the carpark and stuff. Haha. Myrtle got thrown into the pool. And people were like pouring pails of water over each other.

Last game - war games. So its like the usual two groups, bombs, bases, different ranks, and lots and lots of running. Our forfeits were very fun :D Hahaha by now everyone knows what they are. Separating a bowl of beans! The game was fun (everyone played except Daryl because he briefed, boh-mbs and are-ah!) but I hated the running. My braid was like wonky after that /:

After all the games, there was supper. Then we all went upstairs to bathe. The water was freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing.

Went back down to play cards and drink milo and whatever. Then had to clear up again. We spent like ages trying to decide whether to sleep or to go play board games. Haha in the end we went to the room and played Boggle with some others. Gosh I love Boggle HAHA its such a wonderful geeky game.

Lights out was at like 4am
Day 2
Went down to prepare for breakfast which was annoying too haha. Then went upstairs for worship. Karfoon did her teaching thing and I think I was almost falling asleep because I was so tired and all.
Had indoor games! We played the pocky game. Like passing pocky with your mouth. Its quite sick because of all the saliva. But whatever. A game is still a game.

Then had photo taking, followed by lunch. Soo as usual, filling the dispenser was shittt. And I think after lunch was the sweatiest, smelliest part of the whole retreat. The comm. was like packing stuff and throwing rubbish and everything. Super gross the rubbish area was so, so, SO smelly.

Went upstairs to bathe and change into church clothes, packed up and went to the room. We had like some free time so played polar bear. Then had one more photo taken for the retreat '07 then loaded stuff onto the bus and went back to church.

So the usual packing and throwing of stuff. Had extra time to kill to went to get food. Then sofa clubbed before going for service.

I was like almost falling asleep during service. Like, nothing went in except the words "Trinity Sunday". Oh wells. Newbie! :P Hahahahha. And Nat ah, tsktsk.

Anyway, I'm glad the retreat went okay in my opinion. (I know some people disliked the games because they were disgusting. But whatever. A game is still a game.) Its our first time doing such a thing and I think we messed up a lot, especially during the meetings during the movie marathon and stayover. But mistakes are there for us to learn so we should look at stuff in a positive light. Good job everyone! Thank God for letting things flow (:
