I had my first piano lesson with this new teacher. She's okay, I guess. What I liked best was that she said that I didn't have to continue some books anymore! You see, I have like, 2 technique books (full of lame finger drills) and 2 books full of songs, one easy, one difficult. And she said I only had to continue doing one of the technique books (the harder one) and only one of the song books (the harder one as well). So like, yay! Only 2 books! Not including scales and sight-reading, of course.
BUT! Lesser number of books means more number of pages per book. And that was exactly what happened. And before she starts teaching, she plays it once through. I seriously wonder how people do that. I mean, I have to practice for ages and ages before I get the song nailed to perfection but some people just can do it without preparing. All they have to do is to open the book, and PLAY. Gawd.
Today...
Must learn how to relax and take it easy during training. Because I discovered that being sick with worry and nervousness makes a player do a lot of wrong things and not feel confident. (Haven't trained in a while, you see.) And learn to stop regretting the things I do (:
